About Yakira Cherish Foundation
A vision birthed from Yahweh's heart for Nigeria's most vulnerable precious, beloved, and highly valued children.
Yakira Cherish Foundation formerly known as Yakira Brasa Kids was initiated by Yvonne, a woman whose heart was captured by God's love for Nigeria's most vulnerable children. The name was changed to allign with the government registration and to reflect the broader mission of the organization.
Together with a devoted friend in Nigeria, her vision grew into a well-structured, faith-centered organization and was officially launched on January 27, 2026.
The Name Yakira
Derived from Hebrew origins, the word Yakira embodies three sacred truths:

The Name Brasa
From Papiamento heritage, the word Brasa carries the warmth of community:
✦Big Warm Hug — embrace and belonging
